How car dealers are cheating buyers openly

In India, when someone buys a car, he/she needs to pay, other than ex-showroom price, registration charges, taxes and insurance.  Besides these, there are other charges which are optional like payment for extended warranty, accessories etc.  However, almost all the dealers have been charging the customer some amount in the name of handling charges/logistics charges/misc. charges etc.  This was objected to by some in a court in Delhi and notices were issued by the court to various parties including Transport Authority in Delhi.  In pursuance to this, the Trasport Department of Delhi issued a public notice which clearly stated that these charges are illegal and action would be taken against any dealer charging the same from the customer.

We observed that inspite of this clear direction, dealers are not following the instructions.  Car dealers have in fact put on their website the details of these illegal charges.  Some examples are given below-

This is nothing but open flouting of the rules and it seems that Transport Authority is doing nothing.
