LED TV free with Honda Brio

Honda is giving an LED TV (32 inch) free with its hatchback Brio. This is in addition to the normal free insurance for one year. Total value of these two freebies is around Rs. 45,000. The ex-showroom price of Brio starts at Rs. 4,16,000 in Delhi.

As the year 2013 is heading towards its end, more discounts can be expected from other car companies also.  Considering the high prices of fuel and weak economy, many car companies are providing very good discounts. Except some very popular models like Ford Ecosport, Honda Amaze and just launched Hyundai Grand i10, almost every car is offering freebies.  Good time to shop for cars.

Top Ten Best Selling Cars in India – October 2013

Following is the list of top ten best selling cars in India in October 2013. The numbers have been rounded off to the nearest 100.

Suzuki Alto                  22600
Suzuki Swift                19000
Suzuki Dzire                17200
Suzuki Wagon R         14300
Hyundai Grand i10      11500
Mahindra Bolero         10700
Honda Amaze               9600
Suzuki Ertiga                 7200
Hyundai Eon                 6900
Suzuki Omni                  6500

As can be seen, out of the top 10, six positions are held by Suzuki products. Suzuki is also retaining the number one overall position with 42 per cent share of the market.  In contrast to Asian automotive giants, European brands are just small dwarfs, struggling to breath.  Four European brands present in India i.e. VW, Skoda, Renault and Fiat have a combined share of six per cent which is exceeded by India’s Tata Motors alone.

Honda is moving ahead but it is stuck at its capacity limit i.e. approximately 10000 units per month.  Its second factory in Rajasthan is expected to commence production in the beginning of next year. All of its good numbers are due to Amaze, its sub 4 meter sedan. Honda is now giving a good fight to Toyota for fourth position in Indian market.

Ecosport has now come down and stands just above its main competitor Renault Duster on the ranking ladder. Its insane waiting periods running somewhere around 8 to 10 months are making people cancel their bookings and go for other options. And these periods are for diesel models. For petrol (Ecoboost and normal 1.5 lt. engine), nobody knows whether and when the delivery will take place.
